Hi redwoman,

Don’t worry, though those eggs are really small, if they’re there, you would be able to see them provided you looked carefully. They are indeed small, about 3-4 mm long, but they can be seen with naked eyes.

I’m still new in this cricket-breeding stuff, and it happened by accident. One night about 2 weeks ago I saw one female cricket busy doing something to the wet cotton layers I had put in the tank for their drinking purposes. That cricket was busy poking it’s ovipositor (that long stick thingy) through those cotton layers and true enough, the next day I checked, there were many eggs embedded in between them.

I’ve been keeping those eggs in a warm room and man I do hope they’ll hatch soon. I need pinhead sized crix for my newly bought baby beardie.

Good luck to you
Chucky

If they look like the one in the pic I posted, it’s very possible that they’re eggs. Last week when I was about to clean the cricket’s tank I accidentally saw one of the crickets pooping.

What came out was a small substance mixed with clear liquid, totally orange in colour, just like the colour of the carrot I had been feeding all of them. I guess they are what they eat, so if you have anything like in that picture I posted, they could be eggs and most probably not their poop.
