I would not take the container out everyday, its not nesassary. Some people say leave it in there once you see the first sign of egg laying for a week, then take it out and put it in a separate container, like a 5-10 gallon aquarium or something similar. As long as the baby crix cannot get out it will be fine. The bottom tank heater is a great way for heat, but i use an over head 25 watt bulb in a 5 gallon acrylic contatiner and keep them in a room that averages about 78 degrees. But definatly use the bottom heater. The more heat the faster the babies will hatch. But don’t get over 90 degrees in the container. It will take a little over a week- three weeks until they hatch, again depending on the amount of heat you use for them. Hopefully this helps you out, if not i have a complete list of what i do from start to finish. |
