 Is this Ok??????

If i buy a dozen crickets a week is it ok when i put them into the cricket keeper from ZooMed i think- i will have egg cartons paper towel as substrate, a filled up sponge of water for them to drink, and veggie and fruit peallings with grinded up catfood to eat?? I just need them to survive a week- i’ll feed 2-3 a day. Thanks!!

That’s totally fine. I’m using a cricket keeper (about the size of a shoe box).

I got sick of driving to the store all the time so I’m ordering 500 at a time and will be housing them in a rubbermaid container (10 gal) and they keep for about a month. I start with 1/8ths, just one gecko now but will be adding 3 tree frogs soon.

I have an African Fat-Tailed Gecko and I usually buy a bag of 36 crix at a time. She only eats 6-8 every other day, so I wouldn’t want to buy in bulk. Unfortunately they only sell like 500 or 1,000 or 1,500 or something in bulk. If they sold them in 100 I would be all over that. I keep them in a 10 gal aquarium w/screen top, a top half of an egg carton, some paper towel rolls (standing up), a dish with Fluker’s gel with calcium, a dish of T-Rex cricket diet "gut-load", and a dish of carrots, paper towel/construction paper floor.
Basically if they have food, a water source, a well ventilated/warm "holding cell" and a dark place to hide, they will be fine. Make sure they ALWAYS have food or they will eat each other up. I had a bad experience once. Once...

Good luck
