I have a trashcan that I keep the crickets in. In the bottom I have eggcrates standing up. A butter container lid to put food and water gels in. And a plastic butter container filled with soil that I keep moist. It is kept outside where temps reach upper 90’s, not sure what night temp drops to. Someone look up austin for me and tell me please. I keep the egg containers with lid over it out there as well and spray them daily. It’s been nearly 3 weeks for the first container, which I don’t know anything was laid in. About two weeks on the second container but it had been knocked over when something knocked over my crickets and I lost them all. I saw females laying eggs in that one but nothing is hatching. The third container is about a week and nothing is hatching. Indoor temp is about 75 and I can’t find a heating pad without auto off. What am i doing wrong? what could I do better? what do i try?
Oh, I had dumped in about 200 unsexed crickets when i replaced the one’s that got away. About to dump in 1000 tomorrow after I clean it out. There is no way I can go through 1000 and pull out a 2/3 female colony. I can’t ever grab the one I’m trying to get.
