Crickets started laying eggs in paper towl!!!!
Well i have ALOT of reptiles and amphibians to feed so today i went and got more crickets. I brang them home and put them in a cage with food and water jel and a paper towl on the bottom for easy cleanup. After awhile almost ALL of the females were laying eggs in the paper towl!!!! I wasnt planning on breeding them just feeding them to my animals, but i think i am going to try to breed them now. I sit ok for them to lay their eggs in the paper towl. and if not what should i use???

Crickets started laying eggs in paper towl!!!! get a little tube of organic potting soil that’s not to big and not to small. they will start laying eggs in it and after about 3 days take it out and put it in something that is like 70-80 degrees. like get a 5 gal tank and put a 100 watt bulb in there with a screen lid and put the tube in there with no substate in it and it will be like a incubator. if u dont under stand ill try to explain or get a pic or something.

Crickets started laying eggs in paper towl!!!!
Well i DO understand what you are saying and i tried putting a dish of soil in with them but they keep digging in it and the dirt is going everywere in the cage. Then they just keep laying them in the paper towl under the dishes. Then i tried putting them in a cage with an inch of soil in the bottom and nothing else except the food and water gel, then they started laying in the dirt. This is going well right now i have another cage i am putting them in while im incubationg the eggs in that cage.
i was wondering, when the eggs hatch will they be little larva worm things first, or wil they come out and look like crickets?
