 Crab question please...

hi. i had a crab (supposedly-fresh water) and it died b/c i didnt do research and had it in fresh water with my fish. now...i would like to do it again...this time right! now i know about the brackish water-i think i can do that. i know about the pt land/pt water thing-i think i can do that. what i need to know now is--can they have fish with them? do they need filter and heater? what temps? how would i put the heater in setup that was only half full. any pics would help, especially if it shows the how the heater and filter is in there. any thing elae, ill be sure to post. thanks for any help. M-

Room temperature is good for them, most crustaceans don’t like heat. As far as the filter...if you’re willing to do a lot of cleaning, a filter isn’t necessary, it just makes life a lot easier. The fish are okay also as long as you don’t mind if the crab eats them or picks at them a lot. And you would have to make sure the conditions were right for the fish too.
