I think they could last a couple of weeks at least. A lot of petstores keep fiddler crabs (which need brackish water) in freshwater enclosures, and they seem to last a while. I don’t think it’s too good for the crab if you keep it there for an extended period of time though.

you have to put sea salt in it, not table salt. If it’s a fiddler crab, they need brackish water
