 Peaches Went To Heaven Today

I’m not gonna write much, cuz I’ve been bawling for 3 hours. She was having major breathing complications, cuz the vet took her off her meds yesterday because she peed uncontrollably about 15 times yesterday. She couldn’t even walk up three steps, and she wouldn’t go outside to potty. At least she’s in a better place. My friends have been major helps and I know you guys will be too because you’re always here for me. But we put her in a large box and cleaned her up, and this weekend we’re gonna bury her under her favorite tree and plant flowers around it. We’re starting a scrapbook this week, too. I literally probably have 600-1,000 pics of her. It hurts to hear my mom scrubbing out her bowls. This is the first time in the HISTORY of Peaches’ life that she didn’t finish her canned food and treats. My mom says she didn’t mind that my brother left the door open, and she spent all day on the couch and in the living room, kitchen, and dining room. She doesn’t even care that she had an accident on the carpet, or I bathed her in her whirlpool tub on Monday. Well peace to you all. Here’s reassurance I won’t be leaving the forum. Pics will be up tomorrow.

Jeni,
I’m so sorry about Peaches. I’m keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Of course we all are here for you, any time you need to talk. We’ve all been through it and understand.

There is one thing I want you to do.....whenever you feel sad and think the pain will never go away, remember some time when Peaches did something silly that make you laugh. And through those tears, smile at that memory.

No dog can ever replace your Peaches, but with the love in your heart for her, when the time is right you will honor her by giving another dog the same wonderful life, home and love that Peaches had.

Again, my sympathies are with you.

Thank you so much. You have all helped me through my problems and my friendship with her for the past 2 years I’ve been a member.
The only three things I WANT to forget are 1. The night before she died, she was having some problems, and I kept telling my mom, "No, not now. Not now. She’ll die another time. Next year, but not now." and the next day she did. 2. The morning before she died, I was taking her out to go to the bathroom, and she couldn’t walk down the steps, and she didn’t want to go outside (a first, literally). I dragged her out anyway, and I feel SOOO bad now, because I should have just let her sleep. When I was pulling her, she started gasping and wheezing. 3. Ultimately, I never want to remember this one. My dad had dropped me off from church youth group last night (I was the first one to find her, because no one was home when she passed), and I opened the door slowly, thinking she was gonna jump up on me and try and run out the door like always. Instead, I find her stretched out on the floor, laying in her own urine. Her eyes were still open, her legs outstretched, her tongue hanging out the opposite side of her mouth. My dad was pulling out of the driveway, and I started screaming "Dad, come back!" When he got out, he asked me what and I couldn’t form the words in my mouth. I lay on the driveway screaming and crying and my head in my hands, and my dads like, well maybe she just passed out, which was a side affect of her meds. Then, I heard the words that keep ringing through my head. "Oh no, She is dead."
My oldest brother, who’s at college, still doesn’t know, but we’re calling him this morning.

Sorry for your loss. brings tears to my eyes. I know how you feel. Its hard to loose a companion that was so close. Just remember peaches woudl not want you to feel guilty, its not youir fault. and she’d want you to live your life and not hold yourself back because of it. Remember this. grieve, and then do what dogs need to do, live your life. Live it for both of you. Peaches woudl want you to be happy. but yes i know will take time for the pain to dull. Just never forget her and she will be happy. and PM’ing me offer is open to me as well.

Aww jen im soooooo sorry girl. at least she is not in pain any more. Your family tired their hardest to help her recover and that was the best thing for her to die knowing her family loved her and cared deeply for her. One day though you’ll see her again by then you will have had many other dogs and be glad to see the dog who taught you all the things it takes to be a good owner. plus think of this when you are a vet a little girl just like you will come in with her first dog and you can tell her all about peaches and how wonderful she was for you and your family.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m going through a long sickness with my oldest now and I have no idea how I’m going to manage without her. I cry just thinking about it. I think Peaches last gift to you was passing on her own, without you or your family having to make that hard decision. Good luck and RIP Peaches.
