 Digging

Hi everyone. I have a 5 month old yellow lab. he’s a great dog, but he is digging up the yard! I tell him no... doesn’t help. I squirt him with water... it distracts him for about 2 minutes... he only stops when I get very close to him. Any suggestions?

Oh... and he loves to bark at m when he’s in his crate... he wants out so he can jump on the kitchen counters. Advise for any of the above three would be helpful!!!

I dont know what to do. But labs love water so the spray bottle doesn’t always work for them.
My friends lab would like try to swim in the water lols, it was terrible.
Sounds like your dog also has some problems that theirs had as well.
I moved away from them or else I would ask what they did...

 Digging

usually wen dogs digg, its becuz they dont get enuff exercise. im not saying u dont give him exercise, but sum dogs r more hyper than others, and they get rid of this hyperness, by digging.
a few things to try, is alot more exercise, put sum really spicey foods in the hole where he digs(it will annoy him), or even grab dog poop, and put it in the hole, cover it up. i heard those two things stop them quick.Faith has never dug holes really, but i kno a few people, that has said those 2 things work.
also teach ur dog to not jump up. on people, counters anything.wen ur dog jumps up, grab his snout, make him sit(grab his snout, firmly but gently,u wont hurt him), say no, in a firm voice. do it every time. he should learn quickly.
u can do the same for barking.
my vet told me to use the holding the snout technique, and it worked within a few times for Faith.

good luck, and try to be patient, sumtimes it takes a while for dogs to learn the ropes.lol
