Runaway OK so today a pit bull ran from his yard all the way to our house twice today, so the first time we brought him back and the people just said thanks didn’t seem all that worried. The second time we brought him back my dad said you should try to keep him away from the door so nothing happens to him.Well their neighbors came out and said that dog should be put down so I asked for a reason and he said because it is a pit bull. I know that they have more of a aggressive nature then some breeds but he was so cool. Well I started to get a little defenses(i already got attached to him) but their only reasoning to not like him was because he was a pit bull.
Well anyways I am shaking because it just happened 10 minutes ago so bye!!!!!!

Runaway lol im sorry
it’s ok my boyfriend when he moved in to his house had to deal with the same problem only his neighbor kept calling animal control and the landlord stating we had one of them vicious fighting dogs and that the dog kept trying to attack him...the landlord believed him until she came and met my b/f’s pitty and animal control is really good friends with my b/f so they just laughed it off and told mike to make sure that guy is not harassing his dogs. Alot of people think all pittys should be killed....but it goes to show people fear what they do not understand

Runaway Well when he first ran up to me I was a little nervous ,but all he did was lick me. I never thought about getting a pitt bull ,but I may consider getting one he was such a awesome dog. If he comes back again I am going to have a hard time giving him back.
The first time he only ran to our house because he saw me ,but the second it’s like he wanted to be with us.

Runaway the weekend before last my neighbor and i found a dog wandering and called the owners, the woman that answered want US to drive it to their house! well, the father finally came (new to the neighborhood) and he seemed to be the only one that cared about the dog.
then, this past weekend, i noticed a lost dog sign. the description matches the dog i had rescued EXACTLY, including what i remember of the phone number. i was so mad! i feel bad for the guy, cause his family’s negligence caused him to lose an animal he loved.
still havent seen the dog anywhere and the signs are still up. im hoping that either they found the dog and were too lazy to take down the signs or that someone else who was more responsible found the dog and kept it.

Runaway This guy was a very large pit bull. His head was massive and you should have seen the size of his mouth. If he comes back I am definitely making the owner come and get just to see if they actually will.

Runaway I don’t think he has been put down it was just the neighbors saying he was viscous ,but the owners didn’t seem to care about him because he seemed a little under weight. The people next door to the owner said if it gets out one more time they will deal with it so I told them that if anything happens to that dog I will know that you had something to do with it. They also said that they will call the by-law officers because he is a pit that does not have a muzzle on while he is out. It’s not like the owners knew that their dog was going to break through the screen door. Anyways I been by the owners house lately to take him for a walk and the neighbors are always there trying to intimidate me so I just smile and wave.
I just can’t get over how naive some people can be.

Runaway yea thats the crappy thing. Though if you dont live in a place where pittys are banned the dog should not have to be muzzled in public...im glad my pitty dose not have to suffer b.s.l and i hope she never will

Runaway Well pit bulls aren’t banned here ,but they have very strict rules about them being around the general public. They can’t have long leashes so they cannot go up to people and they must wear a muzzle if they are outside even if it is right in front of your house.
It’s the same for boxers, english bulldogs, rotties, and bull terriers.

Runaway I still get annoyed at the "aggressive dog" reputation pitties have! Can I ask what kind of dog the neighbor (The one threatening to call A.C.) has? Just curious because I think it would be a little funny if they had some small breed. I’ve come across more smaller breeds that have been biters than I have Pitts, Mastiffs, Bulldogs, Boxers, Rotties, etc...And I’m sorry but I would have a serious problem with anyone who told me to muzzle my dog just because she’s considered an "aggressive breed." She’s a Boxer and wouldn’t dream of hurting anyone!

Runaway They don’t have a dog. I don’t think they like them anyway. I can’t walk him anymore though because the neighbor has tried to get in a physical fight with me(he’s like 40 I’m 17) and the dog was being very protective of me. So I didn’t want anything to happen because if the dog did bite while he was protecting me there would be more of a chance of him being taken by the A.S.P.C.A. He is just such a good dog!!!!!

Runaway Could you walk the dog away from the neighbor’s house so you don’t have to pass it? That way they can’t really argue because you aren’t even walking it past them. Some people are just paranoid about dog attacks. For example my golden retriever is more aggressive that my step cousin’s Neapolitan Mastiff but people like her more because she’s a goldie and goldies are harmless... She growls at old people (especially those with walkers or canes) and attacks other dogs for their food. Don’t worry, I have both problems under control.

Runaway Well he isn’t my dog (just in case you didn’t already know) They are really nosie people so they wait until I come outside with him. I just found out that the neighbor has actually hit the dog when he was younger so the dog does not like him at all. I am starting to try and walk without the idiot neighbor coming to harass me,but it is pretty hard because they are always outside. A few days a go the guy followed me to my house while I was walking the dog. I didn’t the owner of the dog said he watched him follow me all the way to my house. Tomorrow I am going to walk slower so I can see if he follows me ,and if he does I am going to call the cops on him.

Runaway golden retrievers aren’t harmless. all dogs have the potential to bit. my ex’s mother has one that’s very aggressive with people and other dogs that aren’t in the family. they have to lock him up any time people come over. not the 1st one iv met that was aggressive either. just depends on the dog not the breed.
