So we took her in to the vet to get fixed FINALLY! well we went to a new vet as our old vet could not get her in untill the middle of July...but we needed it done as the male dog down the road is starting to be a bother and he comes around every other day...so we took her in to get her fixed by a new vet. well we dropped her off they gave her her shots and told us she would be fine and to pick her up around 5pm. Well my boyfriend called about 2 just to see if everything went o.k..the lady at the office said yes they just finished up, so with that said my b/f hung up. Well they called up back not 30 minutes after that to say we are returning chaos back to surgery that they gave her an i.v and she has broken a stitch and has internal bleed..my boyfriend about lost it. Turns out the vet did not get the stitches closed up tight and one slipped. well they take her under and get her fixed the vet calls up back and says she is ok but that she is hypothermic due to loss of body temp from internal bleeding she was at 73 degrees! those stupid people about killed poor chaos due to their silly mistake. thankfully we picked her up this morning and she is doing well now..my b/f has her pampering her as we speak. But i do know now NEVER EVER go to a new vet with out researching as i found out this vet is famous for killing animals during spay’s |

Anyway, way too often that I hear "I took my dog to the vet to get spayed and she got sick. Next time I won’t spay my dog." No! Next time, do your research about which vet you use and understand that any surgery comes with a risk, but a spay surgery’s risk is well worth the alternative: unwanted puppies, mammary tumors, harassment from other dogs, roaming, etc. Anyway, I am so glad Chaos is ok. You are both in my thoughts and I’m sure she’ll pull through. At least that dog won’t be bothering her anymore : ) Good luck! p.s. next time, you might want to go through the humane society or another shelter. Shelters generally make absolutely sure to get top notch surgeons for the reasons I stated above. They do "aggressive" spay neuter and want to make absolutely sure that everyone has a good experience with getting their animals fixed so they continue to do so in the future. Anyway, it’s worth looking into. |

chaos is doing great currently passed out under the fan..lol we went to a diff vet because my b/f’s mom suggested it see if we liked them. said she has always had a good experience with the vet. Laster to only find out this is the same vet who killed my sister min pin via over anesthetizing him...i can say we will be using the vet my parents use for now on as he is very knowledgeable and my family has used him for years. chaos has been though sooo much the first two years of her life from having a little of pups thanks to her ex-owners irresponsibility to being drug from one place to the other...my b/f and i both agreed she deserves a good life and fixing her was just the start next is roxies turn to get fixed then all the girlys will be done it’s just better to alter your pets it saves you money and possibly your dogs life |
