 Corgi hurt his elbow

I came home from a vacation yesterday to find the person in charge of my dog, Yuki, didn’t walk him at all. I walked him immediately after finding out. Halfway through this Sunday morning walk, he started limping out of nowhere and, well, long story short, I took him to the vet this morning (Monday). There were no dislocations or bones damaged, he merely miffed his elbow, so I was sent home with some anti-inflammatory meds and told to keep the dog off stairs and not to walk him for the next two weeks.

Two freeping weeks of no walking!

I’m sure at least one of you knows what I’m getting at here; keeping a herding dog contained for a prolonged period of time is like trying to get a kid with a sugar high to sit still. Yuki is going to be so extremely bored and restless that he’ll end up a nervous wreck. Then I risk him pulling some other limb loose when I eventually do get to walk him in the future.

So here I am, asking you: how can I keep my corgi entertained and in one place for two weeks without simultaneously pulling my hair out? Are there other ways to get him to exert his energy outside of taking walks (and any other running exercise), at least for a temporary time? And when I do walk him again two weeks from now, how can I make it a safe, enjoyable walk for us both without me dislocating my shoulder on the leash and him injuring another leg?

On the by, he’s a pretty good dog on walks. I do know how to properly walk a dog, being that before this injury I was giving him two decent walks a day. Don’t disrespect me by saying I’m un-educated on how to travel concerning my canine companion. My only problem with the last question is that, after bundling up the energy for two weeks, Yuki may feel the urge to want to run or pull a little at the get-go.
