Labradoodle & and other dogs like them

Just wondering how many of you guys consider the "labradoodle" a breed of just a mutt?
i say Mutt
it kind of annoys me how expensive they are and how people dont consider them mutts

MUTT all the way
Labraddoodles, Cockapoo’s, Yorkiepoos etc
Really boil my blood wheen i hear about them they truely do
They just do my head in
And i feel really sorry for the mix breeds in the shelters that dont have a worthless name shoved on them to make them get snapped up quickly
I truely hate the eff-ing people that decided to give Labradoodles etc a name to pass them off as full breeds
We have a family dog which is a Cholate Labrador she has 27years of full Choco labs in her
And people are doing that with these ’’designer’’ mix breeds
AH im really pee’d off just writing about it

a labradoodle isnt a breed.
a lab is a breed.
a poodle is a breed.
a lab x poodle, is a mutt. mix breed.
some one one day didnt spay/nueter their dogs, they bred(backyard breeding). and a pretty dog came out of it. so now alot of people are (backyard breeding) and calling them a designer name. to make an illusion that they arnt simply a mutt.
there is absolutly nuthing rong with mutts. i own a mutt.i luv my mutt.
any person can call their dog wat they want. but wen selling a dog. u shouldnt use designer names. appaerntly designer names confuse certain people, and they think their dog is a purebreed, wen its not.

A Labradoodle isn’t a breed of dog.

A breed is defined as an organism that produces offsrping similar to itself. A breed meets specific requirments and standards. Thus, Labrador Retrievers and Standard Poodles are breeds of dogs.

A labradoodle isn’t a breed of dog. When labradoodles mate, they produce puppies that have differant coat colors, coat types, personalities, etc. Labrador Retrievers and Standard Poodles produce puppies that have similar characteristics and personalities. There’s no set standard for labradoodles because labradoodles aren’t a breed of dog.

Labradoodles and other designer dogs are mixes. They’re mainly bred for their cute appearances. Despite the fact that they’re given cute, little names, they’re not breeds.

The majority of designer dogs that are bred for no purpose are given really dumb names people think are cute. You’ll rarely find someone who’s breeding a mix for a reason giving it a cute sounding name. Someone who’s breeding herding dogs together to make an even better herding dog won’t give it a stupid name.

I support breeding mixes, but not because they’re cute or cuddly looking.

i agree i hate the fact that these shelter dogs are just like the designer dogs and no one wants them because they are in the shelter. even when it’s cheaper to get a shelter dog. i love mutts and pure breeds don’t get me wrong they are wonderful i just hate this designer crap and i’m afraid eventually their may not be pure bred dogs soon. all breeds were bred for a certain purpose in life. whether it retrieving, herding, or hunting. but when you mix it up purposly it only confusing the dog more.

I didn’t say I thought they were cute. I was trying to say that many people think they’re cute and breed them because of that.

I think many of the designer breeds that exist are ugly. Yorkipoos, ba- shars, and brugs are all designer dogs I think are hideous.

Have you ever looked at an adult puggle? Lol. They are hideous!! Especially since people buying puggle puppies from pet stores aren’t usually well read in the science of dog food, and feed them crappy, high fat food that makes them even more hideous lol. We have an aggressive, untrained, 1 year old puggle in our rescue and it has to be the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. Don’t get me wrong, I love the poor thing and we are doing our best with him, but man, who would want to produce such a thing??

I tried to find a decent photo of an adult puggle, but guess what? No one actually has adult puggles! Just puppies. And when they get too old, the only photos you find are on petfinder.

Mutts. They’re all mutts. We were actually discussing this at work just yesterday. A lady came in and said she just got a new puppy. She had driven hours to get to the breeder’s house. She was so proud as she told us she now had a purebred, pedigreed, registered COCKAPOO! Another person paid $2500 for a purebred, multi generation, pedigreed Labradoodle! There’s pet shops out here that have dogs like Schnoodles, maltipoos, and chiweenies for at least $1000 a piece. Well one store was selling one for a discount price of $750 because she had a luxating patella. I’m sorry, but instead of paying that much money for one of these "designer dogs" I’d rather go downtown to the pound and pay $50 dollars to rescue the exact same thing!

to be fair labradoodles were bred for blind people with allergies before the money grabbers got hold of them. they’re still crosses but they were originally crossed for a purpose. a lab cross springer here would be called a springerdor *sigh*. the most ridiculous one i heard was a cockernation, an english cocker crossed with a dalmation *double sigh*

Lol....here’s a "designer" name for you! Cockapingese! That’s a cocker spaniel/poodle/springer spaniel/Portuguese water dog mix. The best dog I ever had. Petunia was the cutest, greatest companion and therapy dog ever. Addison’s disease did her in though.

Not a breed of their own, their are to many different looks and coat textures for them to be a breed of their own, they have no standards.

I think its kinda funny people are willing to pay thousands of dollars for a dog that could have health problems down the road that are totally unexpected.... like whose to say that mixing a poodle with a lab wont give you a dog with heart issues that dont show up til later.... or that sort of thing... personally if im going to spend 1000+ dollars on a dog he/she must be registerable with the akc.... lol and show quality.... but id rather go to a shelter or something :D
