Another sad Pit Bull Dog Story

I live in a large apt. complex . It says in the lease you can not have Pit Bull dogs or beagles on the property . I was told because it is considered private property and those breeds tend to cause a lot of damage . Any ways , my new neighbors across the hall has a young pit bull dog .Its just a puppy and could not be more than 6 months old . They let the dog run in and out in the halls and out side unattended . Apparently the puppy bit a little girl and her parents called the humane society . I doubt that this puppy bit her out of anger, he was most likely playing .The little girl was not badly injured , no squad was called .But the humane society took the dog away .

I almost cried when I saw them pull this scared puppy out to the van . The dog was terrified . After a few minutes the guy realized he could pick the dog up and put him into the van .Here in Ohio there is also a law that you have to have high risk insurance for a Pit Bull dog .

My point is is that people should not get a dog if they can not take good care of it . They knew that Pits were not allowed here but moved in anyways . They did not get a license , shots or insurance , They allowed the dog to run unattended . The owners should be jailed , not the dog !

Now a little girl maybe afraid of dogs and this puppy is in jail .

I just hope that the puppy is not returned to these people and it gets a good ,loving home .See I do not hate Pit Bull dogs .I love all animals .I hate irresponsible pet owners .

Another sad Pit Bull Dog Story

My new american bulldogs insurance is 60 bucks a month, I couldn’t imagine how much pitty insurance costs.

But you are right those people shouldn’t have had the dog in the first place if it was the apartment owners wish that pit bulls not be in the building. Second of all they should have had insurance on the puppy, if it bites anyone, they can pay for the damage. I’m sure their wasn’t much being that it was only six months old. But on the other hand it was the dumb, stupid owners fault. The puppy should not have been in the hallway unattended, I don’t even let my Dane go in the hall by himself because he’s so energetic, and he’s almost two. If the puppy had bit my child, don’t have any, but if it had.....I probably would have complained to the owner of the puppy knowing they would lose the pup if I called the human society. But the parents had every right to call. The owners of the puppy obviously weren’t responsible enough to keep an eye on their puppy, and therefore deserved to lose the puppy. Sad, but true.

My new girl is a very mellow one, but she does have a tendancy to be pretty hyper. As does any puppy. So it is alway responsible to keep your pup on a leash or at least an eye on them when around other people. Thats just my opinion though.

:^)

I am sorry . I am so tired tonight . I meant that I love the English Bull Dog . I don’t know why but that is what I was thinking you had just bought .But Pit Bull dogs are especially cute as puppies I think .My youngest son had one . He was also a big baby .

You know the neighbors was out side last night talking and laughing like not thing even happened . If some one had just taken my dog , I would have been devastated , crying my eyes out .

That just goes to show how much they really cared.

English bulldogs do indeed snore, they even make sounds that sound like snoring when their awake, kind of annoying actually. My new baby girl is am. bulldog, the big bulldog. She’s only a year old and weighs 80 ibs and is pure muscule. I can’t wait until photo severs are back up. But back to the topic, Those people didn’t deserve that puppy, it was probably better that the humane society took it because now it can be adopted out to soemone who actually does love it, and care about it enough to take a little responsibility.

I just wonder if the dog will be quarantined for long . The thought of it being afraid and in a cage for months seems like cruel and unusual punishment . I believe that they quarantine dogs for a couple of months if they have not had their rabies shot and bitten someone . I hope it gets a good home . How much you want to bet that they will have another dog within a few weeks ?

I don’t know about your humane society, but mine runs blood tests to find out if the dog had any diseases. Because the puppy is so young it is not likely that it will be held for long, It’ll be up for adoption in no time. I’m sure. And if they get another dog then hopefully they’ll learn to take responsibility for their pet and keep it in the apartment. Belle, my new dog, likes to run and play, she got out of the apartment this morning and I had to chase her down in my pajamas. Sad. But luckly there was no one out there. We’re going to have to work on breaking her of that because I will not tolerate bad behavior.

I am glad to hear that the pup will not be quarantined for long .

I would have liked to seen you chasing her down,LOL.

I had a beautiful bearded collie years ago . She loved to run. She would dig out under our fenced in yard . I eventually had to have her chained in the back yard . It can be hard to get them to stop once they start taking off . I was always afraid that she would get hit by a car .

well luckily I live in an apartment or else it might have been really hard to catch her running in the streets. She listens pretty well when I say stop, but she only stops until I’m right next to her. I’ll break her of it, she’s still a pup.

Another sad Pit Bull Dog Story

I’m the owner of two pitties/mixes and the sad thing is that a lot of towns/cities have policies where they immediately euthenize any pits/pit-mixes that come in because of the stereotypes that haunt these dogs. It kills me because I know that the majority of the pits are only as likely as any other breed to be aggressive. Unfortunately some cities/towns have rules that vilify these dogs without question. And as soon as a pit/dog is accused of being aggressive is deemed unadoptable.

I know I am preaching to the choir, but breed stereo-typing has led to these judgements and the sad thing is that people adopting ANY dog could be victim of these rules. I in no way can say that my pitties will never bite/hurt someone but neither can any other dog owner. My dogs are well-trained and big babies.. but around strangers any dog can be unpredictable.
