Can anyone help? Yesterday morning we got a 4 1/2 month old boxer/lab/rottweiler mix. She was fine at first but wouldn’t eat. She’s been wormed and she’s had her shots. But now she’s not drinking either and whenever she does drink she pukes it up. She puked off and on last night like crazy, I know because her crates in my room and I was up with her half of the night. She also has diarea. Yesterday she was walking a little bit but now she wont get up unless we pick her up and take her outside. All she’s doing is sleeping and puking, and she’s extremely lethargic. We called the vet at home and he told us to give her some sort of meds, but it didn’t help at all she was just puking it all back up. We’re calling the vet as soon as we can in the morning, we hope that she will last that long.

Can anyone help? It kinda sounds like the dog has a blockage in her system, preventing anything from getting through. This is something that you should take the dog to the vet immediately for. Depending on how quickly this has happened, the dog’s stomach could’ve also flipped - which also requires immediate hospital care or the dog will die. This is really not something you should wait on.

Can anyone help? The blockage in her system is a definite maybe but the stomach flipping is defenitly out. Had her stomach flipped she would have been dead within a half hour.

Can anyone help? a blockage can still be disastrous. The longer the stomach or intestines are blocked, the more inflamed the rest of the tract can become, which can lead to dead tissue in the intestine and such.
A cat in my family once died from a blockage. She had the same symptoms and the vet said the cat would be fine and to take blah-de-blah medications. She died not too long later after vomiting blood. The blockage turned out to be a tumor (cat was 13, so it’s not implausible.) It was a considerably long time ago, though.

Can anyone help? Im not trying to scare you or anything, but to me it sounds like it could possibly be parvo? Maybe you should look that up and see if she has alot of signs. However no one can correctly diagnose her online, so the vet is a must.

Can anyone help? No one can diagnose the dog over the Internet . Just because some one tells you that the dog has been wormed and has had it’s shots it does not necessarily make it true . I would be concerned with the possibility of distemper or parvo or a bad parasite infestation . Either way , it needs immediate veterinary care . I would get her into a vet first thing tomorrow . Take a stool sample in with you . Be sure and get a print out of the diagnosis and contact the place that you bought the dog from . They should reimburse you or I would return the dog and contact the BBB . Be sure that she has plenty of fresh water and I would hold off on the food

Can anyone help? ya i dont think its parvo, its impossible to take a stool sample because when she has went its been all liquid. And we’ve called the people we got her from’s vet to confirm her shots. We are calling the vet as soon as it opens, he does large animal house calls so he’s not there in the morning. We are desperatly hoping he will let us in. When we called him yesterday he told us to give her pedyalite (sp?) and today she’s been drinking, she went pee and she only puked 3 times last night.
I know no one can diagnose a dog over the internet i was just wondering if any one has had a similar case or not.
Also the people dont have to much info seeing as their dogs had puppies, it wasn’t necesarily a place that raised dogs.
She’s a sweetheart and we realy dont wanna lose her.

Can anyone help? Is she spayed? Some female dogs go through a stage before they go into their first heat, would be a bit early for a four and a half month old pup, but possible, but anywho, this stage makes them very ill and cause symptoms very much like the parvo virus. I’d just take her to the vet and have her checked out. They are they only one that can give you a deff. answer

Can anyone help? well we’ve havent gotten her to the vet yet... we still have about 3 more hours but since midnight last night to 5:20 (now) she has puked 15 times. She is drinking and getting up to go get the drink instead of us having to put a bowl beside her. She’s also been peeing and i know thats sounds funny for me to say, but if all the water she was drinking was coming back up she wouldnt be peeing. Right now she’s sleeping.
We almost wonder if she’s just homesick.
Lets just hope that the vet can patch her up.... =(

Can anyone help? You can take a plastic spoon and spoon the liquid stool into a baggie. You need to have a stool sample checked for worms asap .A bad infestation can kill a puppy . What kinda virus ? Exactly what was the medication ? A shot will not help a virus . Did he do blood tests ? Did he vaccinate her for distemper and parvo ?Some thing is not right here .

Can anyone help? It could be a virus. A few years ago, my dog had the same problem as yours, with the vomiting and diarrhea, although she wasn’t throwing up as much as yours. When we took her in to the vet, they gave her two medications, saying that it was a virus; For the diarrhea Endosorb, and Albon, as a antibiotic.
