New Strain of Parvo
So yeah, I can’t find an August news letter or blog about what I’m bringing up, but there is an actual new parvo virus going around. I saw a broadcast on the news two or three weeks ago about it, and then a second saying that the local humane society shelter (near my area, in case you’re wondering on the legitimacy of this) had to be closed down and all adoptions stopped. Some new parvo outbreak happened, contaminated the dogs in the shelter, even those who already had their shots, and a day after the dogs crapped blood, they died - which is supposedly much quicker than any normal previous version of parvo. Honestly, I don’t know, I’ve never experienced the disease nor do I intend to. Now everyone in my area is on high alert around walks, some dog parks were temporarily closed, and people were advised that the virus/disease can be transmitted through simply smelling an infected dog’s crap. As far as I know, there haven’t been any more words from the shelter. Does anyone know anything about this? What are your thoughts? |

about 2 months ago our town had a parvo outbreak, our town is very small causing something like parvo to spread very quickly 3 dogs who had their shots died and about 6 puppies. I dont know if is the new strain or what but those poor dogs that i saw brought in to the vet where suffering terrible but thanks to our vet out of 13 dogs who caught it he manage to cure a few...parvo is the worst thing to see happen to a dog when it is in the advanced stage. |
