 Puppy question

Is my rough collie pup aged 9 weeks and hasnt had 2nd vaccination yet until next wednesday 24th sept 2008, is my pup ok to meet and play with my ferret?

My ferret is clean, and always well groomed. Doesnt have any diseases or infections that we know of.

My pup has not had 2nd vacs, yet. So do you think it is safe to let them play? or wait til my pup has had his 2nd vacs.

Yes, it is safe to let them play under supervision as long as your ferret doesn’t go outside. The biggest problem with unvaccinated dogs is owners taking them outside and not realizing how dangerous it is, or exposing them to other animals that go outside.

Even a fully vaccinated, adult dog (or other animal) can carry a germ/disease inside without ever catching it.

The only things I know of that could transfer from a ferret to a puppy are rabies and external parasites (fleas, mites, etc.) so as long as both are free of those you shouldn’t have a problem. Just make sure to supervise, ferrets can be develish little guys!

Yes i see, my ferret has no rabies or anything at all! i check him weekly for fleas or mites. He rarely goes outdoors, do thats fine.

My puppy is clean of everything for now.

We havent took him outdoors either yet, until he is fully vaccinated.
