Hey,
My mom has 3 dogs and she is getting rid of 2 of them.I don’t like dogs but,I am really mad cuz she is keeping the one that is really mean and getting rid of the nicer ones.I don’t get what she has against the other ones.So,annoying.I am deathly afriad of dogs and the male that she is keeping trys to rip my hair out.He pulled me on the ground once and started pulling and ripping at my hair like I was a chew toy scared me so much.Any advice for me?Idk just how do I not be afraid of him or something???

Oh my God, has your mom seen this behavior?? How old is this dog?
if its young as in months old, i can see the puppy behavior, but if this is an older dog, I suggest major discipline!!!! Iwould think that if your mom sees this that she would do something to stop it. Next time he does it have your mom take two pan tops and bang them together each time he does it (dogs hate loud noises) but when he looks at your mom have your mom look away so he doesn’t think your mom is the source. If he finds that out it will cause him to be afraid of your mom. and even if this is a puppy you can still stop this behavior.
By the way, not all dogs are like this, I am guessing it’s because of this dog that you are afraid of all?

well there definatly sounds like there is sum alpha issues going on here. one if the dog is aggressive towards other dogs,plus hes aggressive with u...bingo! theres nuthn u can do about ur moms decision of wich to keep and get rid of. maybe she has a stronger bond with the dog she wants to keep. iether way, all humans in the household need to be leaders in ur dogs pack. he definalty doesnt look at u as a leader.
u need to make urself cofident wen around the dog.dogs can smell fear.lol
do u walk or feed it or anything? taking on jobs that maybe ur mum does, can show the dog,ur in charge as well. also asking the dog to do commands (sit,walking,stay) will show the dog ur in charge as well.
disipling the dog is huge, if u let a dog get away with anything, the dog will do anything. does the jump up to grab ur hair, or only wen ur sitting down?
if ur a bit scared, teach the dog to sit, and stay away from u. wen it stops showing aggressive behavuors around u, then allow it to walk around freely by u.
try gettting sum dog training books, that really go into detail.
cuz one thing is the problem. ur dog doesnt respect u, and to a dog, respect is huge. u and ur family need to be the alpha dogs of his pack. u set the rules.

XxxShoc-Collarxxx-No she hasn’t seen it my sister and I tell her about it(did it to my sister too)Um...he is almost 2 yrs old.Thanks with the advice I will see if she listens to it.Well yah but,also dogs just annoy me lol.

no I don’t want anything to do with dogs so,no I don’t walk or feed him.No,he doesn’t jump up to grab hair he will run at full speed and then push you down and then rip at your hair.Thanks for the advise everyone.

Animalgirl, it may not be your dog. But he still needs to have respect for you. He does need to learn that you out rank him and that what he is doing to you is unacceptable.

wow I never thought I’d say this but.since the others are gone he has been real good.respecting me and just wants to be with me.I think he is starting to like me more than my mom.I actually like him now he hasn’t been mean at all.
