Just at that stage?...
WELL what can i say? I wish she was 8weeks again and was inhaling her food to put it bluntly! these day’s she will get excited about her food dish getting put on the ground then she will have a couple of mouthfull thrn that’s it, she get’s fed in my kitchen and it is where her water bowl is also my kitchen is quite unless i am cooking or cleaning it. If i am in there and her food bowl get’s put down she has her 2 mouthfull then watches me and if i put it down then leave the room when i go in 10mins later she is still sitting in the exact place waiting for me. Now she USED to get a couple of raw egg’s on a Wednesday for her coat and on Saturday and Sunday for breakfast was scramble egg with puppy milk and on Saturday dinner she would get a freash caught raw fish every other meal time is plain Royal Canin medium junior kibble. Now i have completly stopped giving her the egg for her coat, scramble egg and fish as she would wait for those day’s then eat these item’s so out of badness i have not given her any of these and i won’t again until she start’s to eat properly again! The other night i have some garlic cheese on cracker bread for a snack it was on my coffee table and she decides she want’s to take a sniff to which she got told off as most people know here i hate dog’s getting food that isn’t for them plus this is the first time she has ever taken an intrest in my food. I was reading on the internet that dog’s around 13weeks onwards go off there food and start to take a intrest in human food, do you think this is what is happening? She started being like this since she was 12weeks and has just turned 17weeks today (Monday). She stopped getting her egg’s and fish at 13.5weeks and since then she has been living off 4mouthfuls roughly a day (2 per meal). I never had this problem with my old Nelly meal time for her is like a kid at Disney world! If anyone recommend’s giving her people food, table scrap, odd and end of freash meat being cut from dinner etc i’ll ignore them. So you think just keep on battling it out? P.S. Long walk’s, playing 30mins of fetch before meal time hasn’t helpt. Oh she doesn’t get treat’s nor bone to chew on until she start’s to eat again. |

If you are doing either, then stop it. Put the bowl into the closet or something out of sight and mind until it’s time to feed the dog. Provided you feed the dog twice a day, put the bowl out at the exact two times and remove it 10 minutes later whether or not there is food inside. Don’t give the dog treats or anything else that would satiate her appetite. The dog will very quickly realize that that’s all its getting and it has to eat then and there. It may otherwise take a few days for the dog to adjust. It sounds to me that you simply spoiled the dog. And the only fix for this is tough love. In the future if you want to give your dog the extra vitamins to stay healthy, then only feed it vegetables as treats. Such as baby carrots, frozen broccoli, and frozen greenbeans. That and ice cubes. Only ponder doing this when you fix your current problem. |

She always get’s 10mins to eat her food and if it is empty or still got food in it it get’s lifted empty or full. Milla never really has treat’s the only time she really get’s them is on a Thursday between 6pm - 7pm which is her puppy school. It does sound as if she is spoilt but honest to god she actually isn’t she does have a tough life and doesn’t really get to act like a pup, it’s mainly disapline but hey i personally don’t see the point in giving a dog vegetable, dog kibble is mainly that that’s why she get’s left over game food. Sorry if that offend’s you |
