 Help!!!

ok everyone so I have a concern.....

I have an 8 year old Mutt who is half pointer....I think....anyways he is aggressive toward other male dogs and i know he would definetly kill 1. I have a smaller dog that stays out side but in a confined area. Well today My mutt got off his chain and out of the fence. I was at the hospital with my mom and when I got homwe he smelled like something dead and was limpin. Im not worried about the limping becausew he just had a sticker.....What Im worried about is the fact that I think he killed tthe syray rabbit that runs around here....Also i have heard before someone say When a dog attacks a human and tastes the blood...they will continue trying to kill people....Is that true and after him killing the rabbit or watever will he hurt me....

Also if any1 could please give me some advise on calming him down around my other dog. Iam going to get him nuetured ASAP but is there any way I can stop him from wanting to kill everything??

You should expect a dog to kill a rabbit. It’s just prey drive. You’re not at any higher risk just because he got ahold of a rabbit. Just make sure he knows you’re boss.

Getting him neutered is probably a good idea for aggression and other reasons. Otherwise, if he’s aggressive towards other dogs, you shouldn’t trust him around other dogs. if they don’t get along, they shouldn’t be together. You should train that dog very well to make sure he doesn’t get out and hurt anyone’s dogs.

If I had a dog I knew would kill other dogs, I would train it basic commands as well as leave it and a whistle recall.

If i may say animal and human aggression is completly different from each other!! This applies to any breed of dog and fighting dogs too, plus how mant hunting dogs do you see/hear kill people? Zero as they are complete different aggression the person that told you that needs some common sense bashed into them or needs to go on a animal course at there local college... It really bugs me when people say that!!

I don’t know if you were saying that I said he needed some command, I didn’t. I said that their dog wasn’t anymore likely to attack them just because of a rabbit.

I said basic training because every dog should have it.
