Read plz Hi i dont post here much but i would like to say just one thing and im not comin off mean or anything. i want to share something w/ you guys. last month i was walkin my dogs. when it was male 3 year old male boxers turn this other woman was walkin her dog 2 but she did not have it on a leash. the other dog come over and started attackin my dog the lady didnt even run over to pull her dog off of mine she just walked over and watched. i had to tell her to get her dog so she finnaly reached in and pulled him off. now my dog had a disadvantage or he would have hurt the other dog for he has gotten in fights w/ this same dog couple times before. my dog got whiplash pulled chest muscles and was sore all over. when we finally got time to take him to the vet he has to be put on muscle relaxers so he could get better for he was to scared to lay down because it hurt him to get back up from his muscles getting stiff. when he went outside to go to the bathroom before we went to bed he never came back in so we went lookin for him. we looked for hours. the only place left to look was in our pool. so i climbed in and then ended up finding him. he fell in and couldnt get out because of the muscle relaxers. the point i am trying to get to is please guys please always have your dog on a leash if they r not in a fenced off area please for accidents do happen and the one i have had was a great loss and dont want it to happen to any one else so pleash put your dogs on a leash.

Read plz I feel sorry for your loss. However your post is extremely hard to read. You’re trying to say that you were walking your dog. A woman who had an unleashed dog let it loose on yours and she didn’t help you get him off until you begged for help. The damage done to your animal was horrific and - I think you said this - that it’s happened in the past with the same woman’s unleashed mutt.
Then your dog drown in a pool due to muscle relaxers from recovery...
Truthfully, I think you should sue that woman and have her put her animals down. If you haven’t, contact the aspca. I think a dog that bites once is most definately going to bite again.
Otherwise, thanks for reveiling this info. I will most definately make sure my corgi is on a leash and keep him away from unleashed problem dogs on walks. If I see someone walking their dog without a leash and I’ve known it to attack people/dogs. I’ll tell the aspca.

Read plz I am very sorry for your loss and what brought the loss about.
Another good point to be made here too, which I think you’ve learned the hard way and I’m sorry for that, is that you should have fencing or a deck with a locked gate around an above ground pool, even if your dog may be a swimmer, if you’re not there to supervise why take the chance? I know ingrounds have child protection screening/fencing and it works great for dogs as well, if not typical fencing can be installed.
As for that woman, that is neglect and cruelty on her part. Call humane/animal control services in your area. You can have her animals take from her before futher harm and you can press charges and follow up with a suit for vet bills. Check with local laws though about charges and a following suit. Animal control will bring charges on their behalf regardless. You need all the proof available to you though to pursue since it wasn’t pursued right after the incident. Gather the vet bills and the vets statement on the cause and extent of injuries, etc. Good Luck! Keep us posted.

I know how u feel the womans dog only attacks other dogs and we didnt have the pool fenced off because the dogs never ever even went by the pool and he wasnt outside by himself no more than half an hour. we now have the pool deck blocked off so our other dog doesnt go near it. our other dog is the one that suffered the most she lost her lver and her best friend. they were so attached to each other. she is doing better now but she still moaps around we may have to get another dog to make her feel better but we dont want to replace the other dog. not that any new dog could ever take our old dogs place. but thanks for your guys advice i will look into it.
