I ask this because the other day, while walking my dad’s German Shorthaired Pointers, I swear I saw two Coyotes sitting in someone’s fenced yard, eating dog food and laying on dog beds. They weren’t Siberian Huskies, Carolina Dogs, or a similar breed. I’ve seen enough Coyotes in Arizona to know how to tell dogs apart from Coyotes. I didn’t think keeping Coyotes was legal due to the fact that they often carry diseases such as Rabies and because they’re undomesticated. Just out of curiosity, what would happen to someone who owned a Coyote but actually believed it was a dog? Would they face harsh punishment, despite the fact that they were just really ignorant? I don’t really know if the Coyotes pose a danger to the neighborhoods near by. The fencing keeping them enclosed is chain link and it’s about four feet high. When I approached the fence, they seemed really skittish and ran to a dog house together. |
