 Baby raccoons

i was visiting my grandmother and saw two baby raccoons that looked young,i was hoping that the mother didnt leave them or got hit by a car,her house is near a highway i’m really worried for them i got close because i thought they were puppies from afar,i watched them from adistance and they really didnt seem to know what they were doing,please help im really worried for them i dont go near them because im afraid the mom might try to attack...i really don’t know anything about raccoons so maybe the mother leaves for food or something,but i havn’t seen her all day

i don’t have a pic but they bother were about the size of this one

Leave them alone! Chances are, mom is somewhere or the babies are weaned. Best to let them be.

If you’re really worried, watch them for a few days and make sure they are ok, but usually mom is nearby.

If they are gone, then it’s most likely that mom came back for them. Babies tend to stay put for as long as possible when mom is away.
Glad that you looked out for them though =) It’s a nice thing to do.
