Killing I feed live rodents but there`s a fast clean way to kill them if you want to feed dead, just grab the rodent from the tail (as near as possible to the rodents body) with one hand and from the neck with the other, then just pull as fast and hard as you can till you hear a "clack". If you do it right the animal will not suffer and die instantly

Killing
I just grab them(mice) by the tail and trow them hard to the floor. With rats depending on size I grab the tail and swing them hard and I do mean hard into something harder or for the jumbos I use a tire iron and smack them hard at the base of the skull. All the methods mentioned will work I did find with smacking them sometimes they will bleed bad out of the nose and that makes a bit of a mess.

Killing geez! those ways are disgusting... Breaking a rats Neck! Slamming a door on its head! you guys have some issues... Anyway i have heard that you can buy Dry Ice and set the mice/rats in a container with it (this is a reptiles magazine article but i dont remember exactly how it was done) anyway the Co2 gas from the dry ice kills them. Its supposed to be painless, and seems less violent then beating a live rat with a spoon.

Killing Out of all the suggestions named the cervical dislocation is the most humane if done right. If you don’t snap thier necks right they can suffer. I have experience and training in euthinizing rodents, and we do it by giving them CO2, couldn’t you use the fumes from the dry ice and have them breath it in,(if straight CO2 isn’t availavble). If you euthinize alot of mice/rats you might want to check into purchasing/renting a CO2 tank.

Killing ya you do use the fumes thats what i meant but i am not sure how you could get the fumes without puting the animal in with piece of dry ice.

Killing actually breaking their neck is by far the best way, i couldnt just put them in a container put some dry ice in it and let them suffer, breaking there necks is the most humane thing to do, and if you dont want to do it, get your little brother to:)

Killing putting them in the freezer makes them suffer more than breaking the neck. Freezing is a slow process. Neck breaking is instant.

Killing Lets be honest folks..there is no right or wrong way...put them in a brown bag, and smack them against a wall, or co2, separate the spinal column, freeze them...they are a food source for our friends, in the end dead is dead. Personaly I buy pre-frozen, if I had to do them in, whatever was handiest at the moment. Large blunt object, bottom of shoe, I’ll get over it. I can’t say I’m to worried about how they die, considering that when they become pests in the house, poison and traps are used. One mouse or rat is cute, many are vermin, many in a small area are a food source, lol simple as that if it bothered me, I would take up gardening.

Killing
I used to have a ball python, about 42 inches long. He was eating medium rats, and one day when I put a live rat in he wouldn’t eat it, so I just left it, thinking that he would get it sooner or later. The next day my snake had a big chunk of flesh missing from near its tail, and you could see blood on the white rat’s muzzle I’ve also seen snakes get bitten while constricting a mouse or rat. Since then, I feed f/t only to all my herps(colombian boa, speckled water monitor, savannah monitor, pixie frog)

Killing when you kill a mouse you should get angry at it or something that way you do feel sorry for it. Another way you could kill a mouse is to damp it with some water then shock it with like a huge capitor or something with enough voltage to kill it. then your snake still gets the pleasure of breaking the bones and such.

Killing Throwing it in the freezer seems the easiesT way to me. What if you like put them in an air tight container does its hurt ’em if theydie of lack of oxygen?

Killing yes sufocation hurts..and btw..snake don’t gain "pleasure from breaking bones’’..A a constrictor sufocates it’s prey, there is no bone breaking, and B snake take no pleasure form killing..they don’t work that way... Oh..and the shocking thing..disturbing..if may want to look at getting some prefessional help. Honestly just buy frozen thawed, live has no advantage, and that way you don’t have to kill it.

Killing Interesting bump on an old thread.
I can tell you what way not to kill one: droping it into a snap trap. I had a small rodent problem at my old house, and one got caught by its tail so i decided to finish it off... but even after I dropped it onto the trap it was still living for another 10 minutes, so I had to take it out, reset the trap and do it again.

Killing Buying prekilled mice is not sick, it’s part of the hobby for snake keepers or breeding and freezing yourself. Electrocution..that may be a bit of a problem..I’ll agree there. Idk..you buy headless plucked dead chicken, or fish corpses, or slabs of cow and pig muscle, and eat deceaced ground up animal chunks on your pizza..how am I sick? I particularly enjoy a good rare slab of dead cow, but I don’t think the purchase of deceased animals as a food source is particularly in concert with mental abnormalities.

Killing Tegu girl, you don’t feed mice to your tegu(s)?
Tegus and monitors rip their prey to shreds.
I needed pinkies once, and the store was out of f/t, so we brought home 4 live pinks.
I had to put them in the freezer.
What a friend of mine noticed when she fed our frog a pink from our freezer is that it thaws better than buying them f/t, because they are frozen as long.
Feed it live or buy it dead, that’s my new motto.
