 Ups and downs about breeding rats

i want to start breeding rats but my parents are a a little negative about having rats in the house and some one tell me some ups and downs about them to tell them to maybe convince them...

Ups....rats are great rodents, very social, easily handtamed, can be bred for both a pet and a feeder animal, do not carry as much smell as most rodents, are omnivores so can eat both a good basic dry food diet and clean up your kitchen scraps, males are generally good with both other males and their offspring

Downs....they are chewers so must be housed properly so they can’t escape, they do not do well housed alone, they must be seperated by gender or will quickly overbreed, for feeders they can quickly outgrow a certain size required, they do require daily work for feeding and watering plus a major weekly cage cleaning

i have 22 rats,never had a problem, (except they like to fight over food even if theirs a ton inthere) but theys all boys
