I need some Help with My Mealworms

I’am raising my own Mealworms . I have some small worms but they don’t look to be getting very big . I think it is taking a long time to get Bigger. I have them in Wheat Bran. And I put a potato on top.
They are very small yet. Now I have to restart my Beetles as they All died. I ’am having problems keeping my beetles alive.

I put some of that cricket water in with my beetles and all they wanted to do was stay in the cricket water dish. My bedding gets moldy if I use damp paper towels for their water. And is it ok to keep the beatles and mealworms together in one bucket/cage. I’am trying to raise all my own Pet food.

Thank You for any help. Bucky

You need to feed them more nutrition than just wheat bran and potatoe. I bed them on oatmeal and give them left over veggies from making beardie salad. Even that isn’t really nutritious enough. Look up dr geckos bedding or gutload formula

mealworms are really easy, if you do it properly. you can keep the wheat bran, but i would go and buy a small tin of dry cricket dust, and possibly put some calcium and vitamins in their, as well as fruits and veggies. Always ensure that their food is not moldy, never use paper towel to give them water as it will either get their substrate wet, witch will drown them. oh and make sure that their lid is something that air can travel through to keep their substrate drier.... Well that’s what i know about meal worms that diet works for king mealworms as well..
