 Thinking about breeding silkworms...

I am thinking about breeding silk worms... my friends and I have a combined total of about 15 leos to feed (and one of my friends wants to breed) So I am looking for information on breeding them... from my research you pretty much just get worms, feed them til they pupate and once they emerge as moths wait for them to breed and lay eggs... I am currently trying to locate a source of fresh mullberry leaves as this seems the better choice... has anyone had any luck breeding using that comercial food? if so whered you get it?

any tips hints and tricks would be useful... also any prefered sources for the worms/eggs or food would be welcome as well :) thanks :)

also has anyone bought from "California Silkworms" before? they seem to have reasonable egg prices...

 Thinking about breeding silkworms...

Hi Rebecca Wright,

I have no experience with breeding silkworms but Edel over at the beardie forum started a detailed discussion on this very subject. Here’s the Link. I’ll bump for you too.

I’m sorry I don’t know the answers to your other questions but I am sure if you ask it on the silkworm discussion someone with experience will help you.

Holly
