you *can* breed a rat quite a few times but to keep a healthy stock of rats and have good outcomes most breeders I know only have 2 maybe 3 litters per momma rat and the ones I know give the momma rat twice what she spend on the litter (from conception until the babies are taken) as a break at minimum... but it varies from breeder to breeder hope I helped...
