Small red ants in my tanks

Hi
I have another small problem. I have been noticing small red ants in my reptile tanks and my feeder (cricket, mealworm and silkworm) tanks. I am not sure where they came from... other than looking for food and finding salad in the bearded dragon and feeder tanks. I have put ant traps down in the room (away from the tanks) but do not know if this is going to be harmful. I figure the leo’s, beardies, house gecko and frog will just eat them if they see them... not sure though. I have also found the odd ones in my corn and sand boa tanks (no food source there and no left over residue as they eat and its gone). Has anyone else experienced this problem. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get rid of them without harming my pets. They wiped out my small mealworm container that they got into... they seem get into everything and all containers unless it is air tight. The silkworm eggs I am tying to raise are in my room (they were getting into the silkworm container in the living room with all the tanks etc) because I have seen no ants in there, also my darkling beetle grubs (they killed my last group as well). Please help me. I am sorry for the long winded write, but I am desperate.
Thanks

mix lemon juice and water. half water half lemon juice. and put it in a spray bottle and spray the outside lining of ur tank. they HATE it. also cinnamon THEY HATE IT. put cinnamon around ur house. lining ur house just 1 big circle. that’ll stop em from getting in in the first place. but the lemon thing works like a charm. as well as Cayenne pepper, cinnamon, black pepper, and peppermint oil.
the ants in numbers will DEFFINITALLY be a problem and will kill ur animals. things like boas and other big animals wont eat them cause they are so small. and they can bite on the way down their thoat. hope this helps

Thanks for the info. I will try it out and let you know. Do I spray the outside of the tank (is that what you mean by spraying the outside lining?)? Will any of these thing harm my animals at all? with the cinnamon and pepers... just put a line of it down around the areas where the tanks are? sorry for so many questions, just want to be certain on what to do.Thanks again

no problem. yes on the outside. the ants wont cross any of it. like the oil. cinnomin. the will not walk of it. i guess they hate the smell or something. the lemon thing id recomend more out of all of them. ur animals MIGHT not like the pepper thing so i wouldnt recomend it. just spray a thin line around ur tank on the black lining. or wherever. they shouldnt go back in the tank. I’d do the cinnomin all around ur house. that should stop em from even getting in. And if u see the hills of them outside, boil water and pour it durectly on the hills. do this till they completely leave. they will naturally go somewhere else where the environment is better.
