YOU CAN KEEP FENCE LIZARDS??? the more you pet them the tamer they get. they’re pretty good pets- lots of people have them as pets. if you’re trying to catch them by hand, be careful not to swish them- try to be as gentle as you can. if you’re trying to catch them by net or by cupping something over them, you need to be reallly really careful. you can squish them really easily if you use objects to catch them.

YOU CAN KEEP FENCE LIZARDS??? I have one that I kept named skittles who is extreamly friendly. They do not bite and like basking so give them a good rock and put them outside in the sun for an hr. a day. No longer or they might get burned. Never leave them outside overnight. I use the sun as my heat source because the lamps are very expensive. If you catch one from the wild, they require less feeding then store breed lizards. For water, use a spray bottle and sprinkle some leaves in its cage with water. Clean cage once every 1-2 weeks. Also, they adore being held, but you have to hold them alot at first if you’re going to tame them. If you don’t like holding small squirmy lizards, a wild fence lizard is not for you. Also, I enjoy catching them so here is a few pointers on how: They love to hang out on trees and if you find one low enough to reach always come from an upward angle so they will run down if you miss. Go in very slowly then when you aproxamitly 1in. away swoop in fast. You might want to catch the smaller ones because their sense that large moving object is probobly a bad thing hasn’t fully developed yet. They also like to hang out on flat surfaces such as the sidewalk but normally by a bush so they can escape, so get a long stick and put it between the lizard and the bush and push in the direction of the lizard so he will run away from the bush, then the chase is on. (and they are super fast!!!) Tons will probobly escape at first, but keep trying! When your sucessful you’ll feel great about you and your reptilian buddy, and make sure you give him/her a sutibal name!!! Have fun!!!

YOU CAN KEEP FENCE LIZARDS???
I have lizards in my backyard also and for the last few years I have been feeding them meal worms, you can buy meal worms at many pet shops and when i see a lizard in my backyard i will toss a worm near them so they will not be scared by me moving too close, after a while the lizards seem to get use to me and trust me, some will climb onto my hand to fetch the worms. Alot of the lizards at my house like to sun themselves by hanging on the stucko wall of our house, I brought home some rocks I found and made a rock pile for them near where i usually see them, they love the rock pile, I see them using it everyday and last year a lizard laid eggs under it and they hatched.
Anyway...I think of them as my pets and they are easy to tame and make friends with without being kept in a cage

Yes you can iv been capturing and releasing fence lizards for about 2 years now they are very easy to care for but you should still do ur research. i only feed my lizards crickets which i get from my backyard. its just passing winter so there starting to come back. when you deal with lizards be careful not to squish them
