My fencie won’t open her eyes!!!

I don’t know if she is sheding on her eye lids or if she is sick. I put her in some water and it seemed to help. But I don’t know what to do.

What kind of lighting do you have for her?

Take her to a repti-vet? You may have too strong a light.

Mine when she was shedding her eyes her eyes just bulged out like a frog or chameleon! So probably not shedding. Take her to a reptile vet. And yes you may have a too strong light.

Exactly what kind of light do these critters need? Is it safe to set them up the same as a beardie.

Yes ... beardie set up will probably work.... NO heat rocks or heat pads... I have a 60 watt dayglow UVA bulb and a rexZilla desert series 50 mini fixture for UVB... it keep the top part of the cage at about 80* and heats their hide rock to about 78* yet they still have a place to retreat from the heat and the light...

Just so you know, UVB bulbs produce UVA rays and UVB isn’t really even visible. If you see light coming off of it, you can bet it’s producing UVA as well...
You guys should check out & thoroughly read through Melissa Kaplan’s Info on lighting and heating for reptiles if you haven’t. It the best information compilation I’ve found on it.

That was a good read! Thanks man, I have always wondered about that... My mini fixture puts off very little light... Its almost a white/ blue light but is very dim... I did some reaserch and its a good hood for UVB. My only mistake was to put the lights at opposite sides of the cage! Fixed it though..
