1. Get a male and a female. lol

2. It’s too XXX for this site. lol

3. These are eggs that were either infertile, or they went bad for some reason. Either or, they ended up a non success. The black stuff/dirt or whatever you want to call it is actually vermiculite. I pulled these eggs out of incubation after three weeks. But! That’s what they look like in comparison to a United States dime, if you couldn’t tell lol!

Sorry for not responding lol

You can either leave her in the tank, and put a lay box in it, or you can put her in a little tank with nothing but the egg laying substrate when you’re not home so that you don’t risk losing the eggs. Egg laying substrate can either be moist dirt, or vermiculite. Moist, not drowning wet. To get it moist wet it down, and then squeeze out handfuls so that it no longer drips, then put it in whichever egg laying route you choose. Repeat procedure till you feel there is enough. You want at least two inches of egg laying substrate. I generally use three.

Fence lizards generally breed from spring to fall because in the winter they’re not active due to hibernating.

And as far as determining when she will lay, I have no clue, you can’t really predict it. It just happens when it’s time I guess. Maybe someone else will know...

I don’t think you have to release him. The only reason the males switch mating mates in the wild is because there is so many lol

I don’t want to keep a who knows how old wild one. It’s used to open spaces and being wild, I just got him for his crazy full-belly colors, he also tends to freak out more about everything from being touched to getting fed. He understands and tries more often to get out and free, he tries running up my arm knowing i won’t hurt him, i just toss him off and he’ll keep trying occasionally. He’s got huge leg muscles for a lizards & has lost his tail in the past. Idk, he’s not really a keeper.

How do I know when they taken care of business?

I don’t think he means that. I believe he’s talking about them mating...

You never know when it happens unless you see it! Just hold on to him till you get fertile eggs. Then release him if you please..
