No. Don’t worry. You need a bigger enclosure for him! Even if it’s a 66qt 14 dollar storage tub. Get him something bigger with a lot of high branches to climb on. He’s hiding for security, they tend to do it when they sleep or when they’re stressed. and since he’s wild, have patience when trying to tame him. Digging him up will just stress and tick him off more which will indeed cause him to hide even more.

Taking a lizard out of the open woodland wild areas and putting him in a very very small enclosure stresses them out. It’s like putting a human being in prison. It just isn’t fair!

we are keeping him in there while he is a youngster them we are getting about a 20 gal. or something because we are gettin another one soon. We have a lot of high branches and such. how do you introduce another lizard to the one you used to have?

PS it isn’t a storage tub and he is only 2 in. head to tail tip.

PSS Mines not that active. Why isn’t he?

He’s probably not that active due to his diet; gut loading or dusting his crickets? He could also not be active due to being over fed, or even under fed. Or he may be a bit dehydrated. Do you have all the uva/uvb lighting and heating for him? Also he could have parasites if he was wild caught, I do know that makes them a little lethargic.

If you’re planning to get two, try to get at least a 30 gallon for them. My opinion...

I generally just introduce the two lizards when I’m home, that way I can watch their actions for a bit. If they’re both not males then they should get along fine.

IDK man... I think the Ideals for them is having a bigger setup but I have my two in a mesh screen enclosure that is probably just under 20 gallon total... They seem to do fine though they spend most of their time hanging upside down from the top under the lamps....I will probably invest in a larger enclosure or buy one more of the ones I have and screw them together....
