WFL- White stuff on tail and darker

Hi, I recently caught a wild Western Fence Lizard [and named him/her, but for now i call the lizard a him Irwin]. After about 2 weeks, I have fed him online crickets and crickets from Petco (and yes he actually ate them). Yesterday, though, I noticed white stuff on his tail and he became darker. I just gently picked him up with a tissue. I do not put him in the sun, but he stays on the far side of my room, away from the window. Could it be sunlight or maybe the food? Thanks

He may not like the light so when ur gone put a blanket on his cage also if u want to know if its a girl or boy this is how u know.

Males:
Have dark blue bellies, which are outlined by black, their backs are dark and have light blue on them.
Females:
Can have dark blue bellies but usually are light blue, plus they have dark backs, dont have blue spots only black and brown spots.

Hope that was helpful!! =)
