 A few questions

How long do belly bellies lives?
What do their eggs look like and where do they lay them?
What is their main diet in the wild?

I found a FAT mama earlier in the year. I said to my husband I bet she is pregnant. About a month a go I ran across BABIES. They are so cute and so easy to catch unlike the bigger ones.

Thanks

 A few questions

I believe in captivity they can live up to 5+ years with proper lighting and diet.

Eggs, in captivity they either lay them on top of the bedding, or buried within it.

Their diet in the wild consists of all sorts of insects, from flies to ants to anything they can fit in their mouth. I feed my lizards mainly crickets, but sometimes grasshoppers during spring and summer.

One of my lizards, Mama, the dark gray/brown lizard was gravid with nine eggs. As you can see, two/three are slightly bulging out of her right side....

Mama after she laid them. Hence the indention on her right hind side.. She has fattened up quite a bit since her lay of nine, but yet she hasn’t developed any more eggs for october. Spring will be the development of more. If you gently feel her sides in the hind area, you will be able to feel eggs if they’re there..

If your lizard acts dead, sleepy, lethargic or anything similar anytime soon, don’t take much concern. This is due to their brumating if they’re in proper care....

 A few questions

Thanks Jared
I haven’t caught any to keep longer then 24 hours for my preschoolers to see. I like them outside eating the spiders and other insects.I will pay attention to my garden for eggs next time since that is where I started seeing the babies.

 A few questions

If you see reptile eggs in the wild do not disturb them. The mothers take days looking for a spot to lay; humidity/temp. In the wild they’ll either bury them, or lay them in old tree logs..

Also, if reptile eggs get turned at all the embryos inside will die.
