Lizard life span & Cycle question

Hi. I do not keep lizards captive as pets but rather enjoy them in their natural environment outdoors. I’m wondering what their natural life cycle and life expectancy is. This morning was the second time in a week I have gone out to find a lizard at a time of day when they shouldn’t be out. Finding a lizard at 8 AM when it is 60 degrees and the sun isn’t warming much of anything is not normal. Is it just the time of year that they die? Or do they go into a hibernation state? The one I found last week was still breathing and I brought it in and warmed her up but she died anyway. She never really "perked up". The one this AM I’m not seeing breathe but it did move some when warmed with water and opened it’s eyes a little. I’m currently trying to warm her up but am thinking she will probably die very soon too. Both appear to be female and are of decent size (3 inch body with 4 inch tail). I’m thinking if they were going into a fall hibernation or something they wouldn’t be out in the middle of everything on concrete. So what gives?

Lizard life span & Cycle question

Lifespan could be 5+ years. Depending upon whether or not they become prey for an animal in the wild.

They do hibernate during winter, well, basically whenever it’s cold. Without warmth these lizards are stone cold statues! So they basically shut themselves down till they sense it’s the warm season again....

I have 4 fence lizards, and all started to hibernate at different times, coming in and out at days at a time. Probably hungry, or just confused due to captivity...
