You really, really should have done your research on fencies before bringing them in. In fact, go and do it right now. Go look at every single care sheet you can find; we have some right here, so that can help. First, pin down some basic lizard needs. All diurnal lizards need UVB, lots of space, heat, and cleanliness. With that in mind, you need to find out what kind of UVB, how much space, what temperatures, etc. specifically, for this lizard. Then go and learn all the fence lizard’s other requirements. |

Now, in all this, I REALLY don’t suggest you jump at the hobby with a bunch of lizards. If you feel you are able enough to do it, alright, but that means you have to research TWICE as hard as usual. When you are done setting up the new tank, please take a picture and post it here so I can have a look at it. |

As for breeding, I’d say not for a VERY long time. Not that it will take that long for them to grow, just that I don’t think you are going to be capable to breed them. Trust me. If by any chance you think keeping these 3 lizards is the slightest bit hard, you might as well give up on any ideas of breeding. But if you want to, now is a perfect time--to prepare. Depending on how many females you have, after the male has mated with them you’re going to want to put the females in separate tanks larger than 10 gallons. The reason they need to be larger than 10 gallons is to provide a nesting space. Gravid females need LOTS of space and ZERO stress. So you’re going to need to buy a lot of stuff to ensure a stress-free environment, as well as provide for them a nesting spot. After that, you need to get a reptile incubator. But I REALLY don’t think you can do all that (No offense) because getting a female egg-bound is very easy. Egg-binding is a condition where a reptile or bird cannot lay eggs, and it is usually fatal. And in the case of small lizards such as this, it usually is. I’m really, to be honest, concerned about this whole pet thing you have here. Even if they did not mate with the male, they will lay unfertilized eggs and can still get egg-bound. So you’re going to need and get them a bigger tank anyway. I’m going to suggest, since you have females, a 30-40 gallon tank to put them all in. And make sure there’s Eco-Earth in it. |

Umm...right. But what I’m trying to say is, that even if they did NOT mate, females will STILL lay eggs, just like chickens. Now I told you again, your tank is going to be MUCH bigger than that if you want 2 female fencies. What kind of 20 gallon is it? Is it a 20 long? a 20 long might do, actually. |
