 Expectant mother is getting impatient

Does anyone know how long a fence lizard will be gravid? I know they mate in spring, lay in May-July; and hatch in August. What I do not know is how long they are graved before laying, or at least how long from the time you notice they are getting fat until they lay. I’ve search everywhere for the answer and none of the books or websites seem to have this key figure. Have any of you who have bread them have an estimate? I’m just being impatient. I noticed her growing girth in early march so it has been almost 2 months now.

From the time they start getting fat and onward? I’m fairly certain they stay gravid for a few weeks before laying eggs, but I don’t remember 100%. Just give her plenty of space, plenty of places to lay, and plenty food & nutrition and you shouldn’t have much to worry about :)

It seem like forever before mine finally laid her eggs today. I was shocked when she laid 10 eggs....she was huge but still didn’t seem like there were 10 !!

One thing I noticed is she got fat then you could start to actually see the egg bumps (kinda looks like corn kernals) I could see two sometimes 3 from the side of her depending how she was laying. She got pretty slow and lazy. I did notice today she was digging a hole....and didn’t lay in her lay box!

We have had her about 6 weeks and she did just lay today....

Hope that helped some! I know it was hard to find info....I was paranoid she was egg bound. I did read as long as she is eating and not acting depressed she will eventually lay the eggs.
