Can I introduce them to each other?

My curly tail lizard and my fence lizard LOVE each other!!!!! They go where they can see each other and start glass dancing! Can I introduce them? I wouldn’t keep them together, I would just let them meet each other. They are both females, both about 6 inches long. I am thinking it might help my other lizard because she usually sleeps for days at a time! My Dad came out at 7:00 this morning and Roxy was already waiting for Kona! She never gets up that early!!!!!!! I usually have to get her up. Will they fight if I let them meet? Thanks

The wild one might have parasites ...?? That would be sad if the curly tailed caught anything

That would be a bummer. So Kona could get parasites just by being close to Roxy? Thanks

sharing the same soil...water...and touching / licking / tasting each other could cause a transfer of micro organisms.....after 90 days or more of quarantine you may find no problem with the wild one and then allow them to visit.

You always take a chance but you want to reduce the risk as much as possible.

I’m skeptical if they ’love’ each other. One of them might be digging through the glass to try and shoo off the other.

And like Cphill said, they could infect each other. There’s also the different habitat deal.

As a rule of thumb, don’t mix ANY two species together at all, save for a few established exceptions (Green anole-brown anole, some species of gecko, fence lizard-common chuckwalls, etc.)

Okay, I wasn’t going to keep them together. I will try to keep them away from each other then. Thanks

I put a T-shirt on the edge of my female’s tank so she can lay her eggs in peace without my male trying to distract or stress her.

I’ve already tried the green anole brown anole thing but the people on the anole forum got all freaked out, so I had to return the brown anole. I didn’t really get what the big deal was since they both live in Florida, and are both anoles. But since I was new to anoles I just went with what they said.

That’s pretty strange, because there’s many documented cases of them coexisting in the same terrarium. The green anoles stay up in the trees and branches, and the browns stay in the understory, on the ground. So they pretty much stay away from each other.
