It’s a reptile you can’t really train it.

Okay, I’m going to assume you’re just a tyke right now and probably don’t know much about lizards, so I’ll try my best to pump the naivety out of you:

- Lizards are not ’cheap pets’. You will need an average of $120 for one wild-caught fence lizard. If you want a reptile of any sort, be ready to have a bunch of money. Otherwise, let them go.

- You cannot ’train’ your lizard, or teach it to love you. If he/she does not like you then that’s that.

- YOU CANNOT STUFF A LIZARD INTO A SMALL CONTAINER AND EXPECT THEM TO BE HAPPY. Lizards are thinking creatures just like you and me. How would you feel? Go all out, get a 10 gallon tank. Look at our caresheets for specific info.

- Research. Before. You Buy. Or in this case, capture. It’ll save you a lot of burden in the long run. Don’t go around and kidnap a fence lizard and THEN learn how to care for him.

You strike me as the kind of person who just wanted a free pet. Let him go, and when you’re ready, you can either buy a lizard or catch one again. Remember, each lizard has different care requirements.
