 BIGGEST SURPRISE EVER!

hey everyone, i know it’s irritating to see all caps, but i’m amazingly excited.
so apparently i didn’t get all the eggs from my fence lizard.
because today when i was about to feed her i found 6 baby fence lizards!
it was a HUGE surprise for me. i mean big.
i’ll see if i can get some pics up later.

yes the other eggs are still incubating.
really hope i didn’t mess up with those..
currently they are incubating in the same room as the cricket eggs (since that room stays at 87f all the time)

At that temperature if they do hatch most will turn out to be males. If you lower it to the low 80’s you could have a better chance of getting females. But, the sex if probably already determined since usually its what matters at the beginning of incubation.

 BIGGEST SURPRISE EVER!

i have heard about temperature determining gender in sea turtles.
always wondered if that was the same for other herps.
but it doesn’t really matter now.
what i was wondering is how many days do they feed off the yolk before they start eating crickets?
yesterday (their hatching day) i put a few pinheads in the enclosure they are in.
only one took interest and caught one, but didn’t eat it.
they also drank tons of water yesterday. i was a bit surprised.
they all drank a good amount from a dropper i was using.
