ypou should never touch a snake if you dont know what it is, it could turn nasty! dont touch adders, they get pissy and although their venom is not particularly strong, it has been known to kill and you would need a hospital appointment. also, it has been made illegal to touch many of our native reptile species... as far as i have been informed anyway... amphibians, (natterjack toads and great crested newts aside) you can touch no problems Erik |

The quarries which aren’t just left to nature are mainly now Parks and stuff. The woods round large lakes etc..., in these places, are full of herps you just need to look. Try perhaps going to FlatHolm off the SouthCoast. There, there is an abundance of a unique SlowWorm aswell as all your others. The Gower and all the SandDunes on the West are full of Adders and SandLizards. I’ve seen CommonLizards right up the top of some of Wales’s higher mountains. Get out there and do it!!! |
