 Who wants to go herping

News reports that there is a threat in the everglades, but its good news for us. The population of pythons and boas have been increasing they think a little too high. A lot of the python owners were not prepared too well, at first it started with buying a baby burmese python thats one foot long for 80 bucks, two years later they have to use a room to house it and feed it chickens, so they decide to throw it out into the everglades . Aparently that python finds a mate and multiplies. So all herpers, get off that couch and into the everglades cause its heaven. Sorry if i sound cheesy can’t think of what to say but seriously get off that couch and into the everglades

Herping in the Glades is awesome... just don’t try to take anything...This problem has been around a while and you can find plenty of discussions about it in this forum and in the burm forum as well... Problem is if you get stopped by a Park Ranger taking a snail out of the Everglades you will be fined and arrested on federal charges... let alone a giant snake.... The Everglades is a National Park and Preserve and it is illegal to take anything in or out of the park... Can it be done, yes illegally... Do I know people that have done it, yes illegally... Would I myself do it...probably,and be scared shitless the whole time of getting caught... just wanted to give a heads up to people who are not aware of the consequences... But I definitely encourage everyone to get out there and see the glades first hand.. its pretty awesome... Look up any posts by Nickname or Duuude... they have been herping the Glades for some time now and have been pretty successful, especially in the past year... Good Luck

YEP , NICKNAME HERE . IT`S TRUE
I CONTACTED THE OFFICIAL WHO IS IN CHARGE OF EXTRACTING THE PYTHONS OUT OF THE GLADES ’ I ASKED I WE COULD TAKE PYTHONS OUT FOR HIM
HE SAID THEY HAVE TRIED THIS BEFORE , AND PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BEING ALLOWED , AND THEY STARTED TAKING OTHER SNAKES AND WILDLIFE.
IT WOULD JUSY GET OUT OF HAND
WE USUALLY SEE ABOUT 8 TO 10 T0 20 SNAKES WHEN WE GO AT NIGHT . IT IS DEFINETLY TEMPTING TO TAKE THEM , BUT WE HONESTLY DON`T . WE TAKE PICS AND REMOVE THEM FROM THE ROAD SO THEY DON`T GET HIT . WE FEEL GOOD ABOUT SAVING THEIR LIVES .BUT WE CAN SEE WHERE IT COULD GET OUT OF HAND IF PEOPLE CAME IN AND STARTED TAKING THEM .
IT TRULY IS A SHAME ABOUT THE PYTHONS . THEY ARE VICTIMS , AND ARE USUALLY EUTHANIZED.
THEY ARE JUST DOING TOO MUCH DAMAGE TO THE LOCAL WILDLIFE.
