Not only do you not get to see many Mexico amphib photos, but often times you don’t get to see many in the wild! There are a few species that I have looked for multiple times, in vain, even though they were historically abundant. Thorius, the minute salamander, is an excellent example of a genus that is vanishing quickly probably due to climate change and pollution. I’m hoping to make a salamander-focused trip back down to Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chiapas in 2009 so we’ll see if anything is left!

Well hello! Welcome and I’m really glad you posted all those pictures! They are very good, what you do is a dream come true! To see casque headed tree frogs and mexican burrowing toads, and all the others you get to see and photograph, that’s just so neat! I din’t realize there was that much color variation in the burrowing toads! And that habitat is amazing!

I took some photos of Bufo debilis in August when I was in Coahuila, Mexico...I haven’t uploaded any photos from 2006/7 to my website yet but when I do I will post some for you. Thanks to you and everyone else for the kind words regarding my photos :)
