 America!

More American animals!
What might seem like insect-like botherings in your periphery is VERY exotic to me and many others. Please share your pictures, nomather how common they may seem.

Thanks. I’m actually very happy with the pictures. My camera only works well in the sunlight and these are some of the best pics I’ve taken with it. I’m going back out this weekend to see how my camera does with salamanders as the subject. I can’t wait to get a better camera.

Crazy good pics! Just watch your fingers...

About the leopard lizards, have you tried noosing them? Smaller lizards can "easily" be caught by using a regular fishing pole with a loose noose on the end of the line. Just thread it over the lizard and when it tries to run off, youve got it. The lizards have so little mass that the noose wont hurt them even if it goes around the neck, but be gentle with the line anyway.

I wish I had more herps here in sweden.

Yup, the US is quite big; If I were to move to the other side of Sweden it would still be the same animals and the same habitat...
Id like to do an all american herping road trip some day.

Oh, and just for the hell of it: Horned lizards (Phrynosoma) are called "toad-iguana" in Sweden ("paddleguan" in swedish)... Thats why I like the scientific names, there are so many crazy common names.

That looks like a good sized garther? Or maybe there is nothing in the picture that gives me a good idea of its proportions.
