Is it safe to put goldfish into tropical temperature water? I am getting a 2.5 gallon tank and want to put 2 goldfish in it with a "sucker" fish, which is a tropical fish, to clean up the tank.

ok 2.5 gallons won’t hold anything, 10 gallons for 1 goldfish, but id say 15 gallons to be far to the fish.
no goldfish are cold water and if kept at tropical temps they will be more prone to dieses etc. also swimm bladder problems occur at higher temps. "SUCKER" FISH as you called it, i think you mean pleco catfish, well firstly plecos can grow to be around 14" so are not suitable for anything but larger tanks, so a 2.5 gallon tank could not possibly hold a pair of goldfish and a pleco.
also if you want to keep goldfish and plecos together i would advise a temp of 20 to 22 celcius cos plecos and goldfish would bother be happy at this temp. but personally i think you are very unclear on the basics of fish care so i think some more resurch is needed before purchasing fish. and sadly you are mistaken about plecos, they won’t keep your tanks clean, far from it atually. they will eat algea from the glass, but then they also churn out loads of poop. more so than they would help ’clean’ the tank. these guys won’t eat poop and other crud from the bottom. they need veggies, like cucumber.
at my work we have a 7ft display tank with discus, a local fireman bought in a common pleco that out grew his tank so we took it off his hands. it is 14"long and produces soo much waste it’s unbelieveable.
bottom line NOOOO!!!!!!!! to your complete idea of your question, the solution? buy a book, read, absorb and apply. enjoy!

odd, i thought swim bladder came from gulping air while eating.

gold fish cannot stand extreamly high temps, but using a heater in your tank is not such a bad idea, gold fish are more active and breed easier in warmer water.

2.5 is far from adequate for goldfish. I think the only thing that should be in less than 10 gallons is a betta.

for goldfish good rule of thumb is 30 gallons for the first goldfish and 10-20gallons per each aditional goldfish. they very dirt and they get big, smallest type i think would be the nymph or fantail they get to about 6inches. dont mix fin types like dont mix an oranda with a lionhead lionheads are alot slower. the common goldfish is the fastest so itll get most the food before the other fancier ones. plecos you CAN keep them with goldfish but it depends on what type common pleco and snowking are better for cold temperature so they work best BUT if they begin to run out of food they resort to sucking on the goldfish’s slime coating. and its bad for the goldfish. plecos arnt very good algae eaters but they love plants.

if you talking about a pleco (alge eater) they get to be over 12inches
