 What type of cichlids are these

I got these from a guy of craigslist and was told they were both convict cichlids but I think the one in the top pic is something eles.

Thanks for the help. I knew the bottom one was but the top one I was unsure about as all the ones I’ve seen had stripes like the bottom one. He also told me they were the same size, their both 4 in long but the bottom one is taller the the top.

The fish that lives with your turtle is a Jack Dempsey. My favorite Cichlid.

No. The Jack Dempsey will eat them.

You probably have a breeding pair of convicts, that would explain the diffrent look of them. Just a FYI if they are a breeding pair, you will have lots of fry in no time, convicts are super breeders, meaning they do it all day everyday lol
