Live plants?  I have a 20 gal. freshwater aquaruim & i want to add real plants ( i have fake 1s in now) It has a flourescant light, internal filter, and internal heater.Im not sure what kinds (species) of plants to add. Any suggestions? also, what do i use for the subtrate? Do i need some kind of soil? Ive never had real plants before so any sggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

Live plants?  anachris/elodia, hornwart, duckweed, java plants, java moss, ad and sword plants are good for the beginner. you need gravel/ sand mix for them to plant REALLY well. but other than that they are very easy to keep... ;) oh a anachris grows like CRAZY!!!

Live plants?  its easier to spend a lil extra cash and buy an aquatic plant substrate online. hygrophelia, wisteria,vallinis, red tiger lotus, moneywort, and anubias are all great. because you only have a 20, iwould advise against swords due ton their size
