Betta 
Is there any kind of fish that we can put in with a male betta? Can we only put in one male? They are so beautiful that we would like a few.

A male betta will usually do alright in a community tank with fish like mollies, angels, and gouramies. DO NOT put another male betta in they will kill each other or one will kill the other. Make sure you have the proper heating, light and filtration and Betta’s like minimal water movement as they tend to be top dwellers.

there are many fish that are suitable tank mates for male bettas. unfortunately, another betta, regardless of sex, is not an option. neither are any sort of fancy-tailed fish variety (ie: guppies, angels etc) or a fish that is hard on the bio-load (like a goldfish). i have kept danios with bettas with no problems and have even managed an all-female betta tank but it is difficult, the tank needs to be HEAVILY planted, you can only keep three girls in a ten gallon (odd numbers work best) and it helps if they are all similiar in color and tail pattern (i speak from a very expensive lesson that ended up a bloody mess.) cory cats, danios and other not-so-flashy fish can be tank mates for bettas but please don*t attempt two males or even a male-female combo unless you have a very sturdy divider..... as i type i glance around and i have 13 bettas in one gallon bowls and a 55 gallon tank that sits empty..... what a bummer, i know, but they aren*t exactly **friendly** or **social** fish.
