 Is this an odd color?

I just bought a frilly. When speaking with the seller, they told me that the coloring was from him soaking in the water. This is a baby frilly by the way. Even though it seemed a little off I bought him. Later I found that it has nothing to do with the water. The tail is a mid brown. The body and three legs are a very dark brown and one leg, the frill and head are all a very light grey. Is this normal? I have had several reptiles but have never seen the different colors like this even in shedding. At least not color differences that end in a STRAIGHT line. Please share if you have any info.

Also, what is a normal price to pay for a frilly?

I am new at this. I hope the photo posted. I am not sure of his age of kind. Any ideas? The leg you don’t see is the color of his/her frill.

I agree with coults, it’s got the frill like a new guinea but it’s brown everywhere else, i wouldn’t say it a hybrid because it has the pattern on the frill like the new guinea....

About 10 years ago there was a huge amount of hybrids in the states, not so much anymore. Most people that have Aussies try to just breed them to Aussies, unless they have no choice. Your going to spend around $4-$500 for a hybrid. I have some NG frilleds that looked like Aussies, the only difference was there size. They were the size of NG. You could just have gotten a cool looking frill. Post new pics of the frilled dragon, I would like to see what he looks like now that he is bigger.
